When should I apply?
Most state Studienkollegs have two application deadlines: 15 July for the winter semester (starting October) and 15 January for the summer semester (starting April). Private Studienkollegs are more flexible — some accept applications year-round. Allow at least three months to gather and certify all required documents.
Which documents do I need?
You typically need: certified copies of your school-leaving certificate, a certified German translation by a sworn translator, a language certificate (usually B2 or C1 on the CEFR scale), a valid passport, a biometric passport photo, and proof of your university entrance qualification. Some Studienkollegs additionally request a CV or a letter of motivation.
Can I apply to multiple Studienkollegs at the same time?
Yes, you can apply to as many Studienkollegs as you like. There is no central admissions office — each application is handled directly by the individual institution. Note that processing fees may apply, and you must submit a complete set of documents to each one.
